  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Thank you for considering Studies in Literature and Language for your scholarly publication. Please carefully follow the guidelines below to ensure that your manuscript adheres to the required standards for submission.

 

  1. Manuscript Preparation
  • Submissions should be in English or French and prepared in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.
  • Use APA (American Psychological Association) style for formatting and citations.
  • Include a title page with the article title, author(s) name(s), affiliations, and contact information.
  • An abstract of no more than 250 words should accompany the manuscript.
  • Provide a list of 5-6 keywords that represent the main themes of your paper.

 

  1. Structure of the Manuscript

The manuscript should generally follow the following structure:

  • Introduction: Provide a clear introduction to the research problem and the objectives of the study.
  • Literature Review: Review relevant literature and highlight the existing gaps or limitations.
  • Methods: Describe the research design, participants, data collection, and data analysis procedures.
  • Results: Present the findings of your study in a clear and organized manner.
  • Discussion: Interpret the results, discuss their implications, and relate them to the existing literature.
  • Conclusion: Summarize the main findings and contributions of your research.
  • References: Follow APA guidelines for citing and listing references.

 

  1. Citations and References

Use APA style for in-text citations, providing the author's last name and year of publication (Smith, 2023).

Include a complete reference list at the end of the manuscript, organized alphabetically by authors' last names.

Follow APA format for different types of sources, including books, journal articles, conference papers, and online sources.

 

  1. Copyright and Licensing

Studies in Literature and Language operates under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY 4.0).

By submitting your manuscript, you agree to the terms of the CC-BY 4.0 license, granting the journal the right to publish, distribute, and reuse your work, provided proper attribution is given to the original source.

 

  1. Submission Process

Manuscripts can be submitted through our online submission system or via email to sll@cscanada.org.

If submitting through email, ensure that your manuscript and all related files are attached in a single email.

Include "Submission to Studies in Literature and Language" in the subject line of your email.

After submission, you will receive a confirmation email with a manuscript ID for future reference.

 

  1. Publication Fees

Studies in Literature and Language charges a publication fee to cover the costs of open access publishing and manuscript processing.

Authors will be notified about the applicable publication fee upon acceptance of their manuscript.

 

  1. Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure quality and originality.

Reviewers' comments and feedback will be communicated to the authors to facilitate revisions.
